Compound “Gefest OSM-1” is aimed for being laid on metal units to increase their fireproof limit up to 120 minutes and preventing fire spreading. It’s used for metal units exploited inside of rooms under the temperature from -40 to +60 and relative humidity up to 80%. For making cover more weather-proof it’s allowed to lay on (up to 60 micron) finishing protected lake “GEFEST OSM-1” TOR 2316-005-50021527-2011 or other ones with an agreement of the compound manufacturer. The compound “GEFEST” refers to goods for manufacturing, technical and household purposes and delivers as one-component white mass. According to the customer’s desire the compound can be tinted in plant conditions without loss of fire-proof properties in limited quantity of tones (from light to intensive tones of gray, red-brick and others). Fire-proof cover “Gefest OSM-1” is corresponded with demands of “Technical regulations of fire safety demands” (FL #123 from 22.07.2008) and regulations of RNS 53295-2009 "Fireproof means for metal units. General regulations. Defining method of fireproof efficiency.
For metal units fire protection thickness of cover is chosen according to results of certificated examinations, depending on effective thickness of painted metal and appropriate fireproof limits of metal units.
Results of certificated examinations of the compound “Gefest OSM-1” are shown in the table 1.

Laying of fireproof compound “Gefest OSM-1” is implemented in accordance with laying technical regulations.
General number of laid layers is defined by necessary final thickness of dry layer, regulated for achieving needed group of fireproof efficiency for metal constructions. It’s recommended to lay the compound with maximum thin layers.
Laying of fireproof compound with thicker layers (up to 1000 microns of wet layer) is possible, but is not recommended to prevent:
- Quick extension of drying-out term and possible fat-edge when the humidity is high and/or the temperature of air or surface is low.
- Shrinkage, alligatoring because of fast drying-out of the surface of laid fireproof compound under straight sunlight or on the draft.
For laying the compound by air-free spraying method it’s recommended to use high pressure piston type aggregates with parameters listed in the table 3. Before laying of the compound from painted aggregate it’s necessary to demount filters of precision and coarse filtering, fix air-free nozzle, corresponded to laying conditions (taking into account geometrical sizes and availability of handled unit.)

Transportation and storage
Transportation and storage of the compound “Gefest OSM-1” – according to RNS 9980.5. Transportation can be accomplished by any type of covered vehicle in accordance with the transportation regulations, operating for the given type of vehicle. During the winter, transportation is practiced in draft-proof vehicles.
Compound storage is practiced in hermetically closed boxing in heated space on the distance not less than 2 meters from heated instruments in conditions excluding the influence of water and aggressive substances. Prevent direct sunlight. Storage temperature: from +5̊C to +40̊C. Expiry date of the closed plant box is 12 months from the moment of manufacturing.
Attention! Freezing of compound “Gefest OSM-1” is forbidden.
Warranty life of the cover “Gefest OSM-1” in space without lowing of fire-proof efficiency – is not less than 10 years.
Packaging
In general, the compound is packaged in buckets (25kg) and canisters (50 kg). Depending on the customer’s desire other types of packaging are available.
