Electrically activated sprinklers

There are three types of monitored extinguishing systems:

1. Sprinklers with electrical activation – the sprinkler has a heating element, when a starting impulse is supplied the flask starts being heated and destroyed opening the lock valve.

The use of such sprinklers makes it possible:

  - to implement nearly every concept of sprinklers actuation

 - to provide a guaranteed extinguishing via actuation of sprinklers on the way of fire spread.

 - to control powering of water screens

 - to protect locations up to 30 m height

 - to combine all the advantages listed above

 - to guarantee safe access to the seat of fire

 - to control a particular sprinkler or a group of sprinklers distantly

2. Sprinklers with monitoring of activation – a sprinkler has breaking electrical contact that is controlled by thermally sensitive bulb. Connecting of such sprinklers to a fire alarm system makes it possible to define the place of sprinkler actuation with a high accuracy. This type of sprinklers, practically, acts as a heat fire detector. Being used in air-sprinkler units, such system allows launching water supply pumps right after the sprinkler actuation, thereby providing less time of water supply to a fire bed. With electrically controlled activation and with monitoring of activation – sprinkler has a heating element and breaking electrical contact. The operating concept combines two types of implementations described above.

3. Sprinklers with electrical activation and with monitoring of activation can be controlled only by Programmed Complex of Technical Devices “Olimp” ( “Olimp” System)

  The elements of electrical activation and monitoring of actuation don’t influence on a standby operation!!! When the sprinkler is heated to a threshold temperature it will be actuated in a normal mode.

  Hydraulic parameters of electrically controlled sprinklers are the same as sprinklers of a common use have!!

       Implementation of such sprinklers makes it possible:

       - to form group start of extinguishing sections (e.g. drencher sections)

       - to form groups for protection of escape routes during fire from the impact of the flame

       - to protect technological equipment in the case of fire

       - to form for limiting fire spreading out of the fire area

       - to have an option of distant extinguishing

       Such sprinklers are controlled by the devices from a multicomponent control device PPU “Gefest”,  “Olimp” system together with fire detectors.

The elements of electrical activation and monitoring of actuation don’t influence on a standby operation!!! When the sprinkler is heated to a threshold temperature it will be actuated in a normal mode.

Hydraulic parameters of electrically controlled sprinklers are the same as sprinklers of a common use have!!

Technical features

The actuation time during the electrical activation of EAS with nominal actuation temperature 57 °С is not more than 15 s. (only bulbs of fast reaction are used. Production of EAS with other parameters is available via special order.  

Examples

Controlled sprinklers “Aqua-Gefest” are awarded with the diploma and medal of competition “Safety Standard” in the nomination of “Fire equipment and fire-safety devices” on the XVII International forum “Security and safety – Sfitex 2008”. October 2008.

	"Gefest" Enterprise group performed "Electronically controlled sprinkler with integrated fire detector" that won the first prize in the international contest "Security Standard" in the nomination "Fire automation" on the 22-nd international exhibition "Security and Safety Sfitex 2013".
	10.02.2015 the NANPB award in the nomination of "Invention" for "Water extinguishing unit with electrical activation".
