"Gefest” Enterprise group took part in organization and sponsoring 42st ISO TC 21 Plenary meeting, ISO TC21 annual meeting was held from 2 to 6 of September in Saint-Petersburg.
This is the second time such meeting is organized in Russia – the first one was in Moscow in 1999.
TC 21 consists of 6 sub-committees. In each of them Russian delegations are presented.
ISO/TC 21/SC 2 Manually transportable fire extinguishers
ISO/TC 21/SC 3 Fire detection and alarm systems
ISO/TC 21/SC 5 Fixed firefighting systems using water
ISO/TC 21/SC 6 Foam and powder media and firefighting systems using foam and powder
ISO/TC 21/SC 8 Gaseous media and firefighting systems using gas
ISO/TC 21/SC 11 Smoke and heat control systems and components
TC 21 Chairman Mr. Keith Shinn personally asked a GOST R representative Mr. Leonid Tanklevskiy about holding the meeting in Saint-Petersburg. The choice was based on the involvement of the Russian Federation in ISO activity and on the status of the city,
which is known as one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
During the meeting delegates discussed many important issues about development and revision of ISO standards. For example, SC5 made changes in consolidated sprinkler standard 6182-1 in sections of requirements and test methods of Electrically activated
sprinklers and ESFR sprinklers.
“Gefest” Enterprise group, “Argus-Spectrum International” and Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg polytechnic University acted as sponsors of the meeting.
Participants noted a high level of organization and service. Besides business meetings, which took place in Polytechnic University, sponsors arranged a couple of social events: Argus-Spectrum International” technical tour and “Hermitage” museum tour.
